Nintendo has just released its latest financial report for its 2nd quarter results and it’s given us an update on how well Nintendo is doing, the Switch and games as well.

There are now 7.63 million Switch units sold, Nintendo has now also increased its projection of sales for the Switch to 14 million units (up from 10m). That also means the Switch has already half of what the Wii U sold total in just 8 months.

During the six months ended September 30, 2017, for Nintendo Switch, Splatoon 2 released in July gained popularity both in Japan
and overseas, with 3.61 million units sold globally. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and ARMS also both sold well after their releases in April and
June, respectively. All told, the sales volume for the Nintendo Switch hardware and software during this period came to 4.89 million
units and 22.02 million units respectively.

The top-selling games on the Switch have also been updated and now sit at;

  1. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – 4.7m

    Looks good. These numbers are for sales ending on September 30.
    So oct 1-December 31 is the next quarter.
    This is its first Christmas so I honestly think Nintendo will be very surprised if it sells less than 4 and a half million units. Seems assured that it sill sell at least that number.
    Which will bring 2017 sales to over 12 million. It should sell around a million a month after that. So definitely on track to sell 14 million units by the start of March 2018.

    Projected 14 million in the first year is excellent!
    I’m honestly expecting it to be more than that too.

    In comparison PS4 sold over 15 million in its first 12 months.
    So this is definitely a healthy launch.
