Nintendo’s Profits Up, 19 titles Surpass a Million Sales
Nintendo has just announced its quarterly sales for the end of 2006. For the nine month period ending Dec. 31 2006, sales for Nintendo were up 72% and net operating incoming up 43%. Nintendo’s sales predictions stayed the same. Also in the announcement, Nintendo announced that in the nine month period, that 19 games have surpassed the magic 1 million dollar mark. Three of these are Wii titles, Thirteen are Nintendo DS and 3 are Gameboy Advance titles.
More Inside Some more fun facts that are rather surprising, Nintendo says that Approximately 1.5 million Virtual console games have been downloaded from the services as of the 24th of January. Onto Wifi games now, more then 3.5 million unique players have played over the free Nintendo Wifi connection also as of the same date. Also 1.4 million Wii consoles have connected to the Internet around the world!
Back to Wii again, by the end of 2006, out of the 4 million manufactured Wii units, 3.19 million of them reached stores and customers. Nintendo is still on track for worldwide shipments of 6 million Wii consoles before the end of the financial year.
