Nintendo Shows Off New Footage of Breath of the Wild’s Champion DLC

Hyrule's looking pretty ominous these days.

We saw a small glimpse of the next piece of DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild during Nintendo’s E3 Spotlight presentation, and now we get to see a little bit more.

Today at France’s Japan Expo, Breath of the Wild director Eiji Aonuma presented a masterclass called “The Art of the Legend of Zelda” and in it, he showed off some in-development footage of the second DLC for Breath of the Wild, The Champions’ Ballad. Nintendo of Europe was also kind enough to upload the footage to Twitter for the whole world to enjoy.

There’s no sound and it looks a bit rough around the edges, but it’s something! Aonuma also confirmed that you’ll still play as Link in The Champions’ Ballad, which is a little disappointing for those who wanted to tear it up as Princess Zelda for a change, but it’s still nice to see Nintendo hard at work on giving us sweet new adventures in Hyrule.

DLC Pack 2, The Champions’ Ballad, is scheduled to release later this year, in the holiday period.
