Nintendo is winding up original DS repairs, possibly ending game card production
With the end of Nintendo’s financial year upon us, the company is clearing the decks. Last week is was the Nintendo DSi Shop, this week it’s the end of repairs for the original Nintendo DS model.
Nintendo has announced, at least in Japan, that DS Phat parts are running out and from April 30th will no longer take the console for repair. It’s also possible Nintendo could run out of parts before that as well. Just to be ‘official’ this for the original NTR-001 Nintendo DS model ,you know the ugly one.
While this news is confirmed, there’s also rumours of Nintendo stopping production on actual Nintendo DS game cards. Considering that the Nintendo 3DS is nearing the end it’s life its not a shock really. The retailer who started the rumour has since deleted the tweet, so who knows if it’s legitimate or not.
