Nintendo expanding third party Horizons

During an interview at the Wii Preview event in New York City, an MTV reprensentative sat down and spoke to Reggie in a very open and frank interview. The interview does reveal some nice titbits of information, including the fact that there will be well over 400,000 thousand Wii consoles available from day one at launch in the United States.

Reggie also spoke about how Nintendo aims to get more different 3rd Parties on board such as Take 2. More inside.
Also revealed was the fact that Nintendo and take two are undergoing discussion with each other. Not only could this mean that an incarnation of GTA on the Wii is possible but it also opens up many doors to other franchises from Take 2 Interactive, such as games from 2K Games and 2K Sports.

Reggies made comments on the subject saying The fact is there will be M-rated content on the Wii console. EA has already announced that they’re bringing ‘The Godfather’ to our console. And we want every single best-selling game to be available on Wii. Whatever that content is.””

Its great to see Nintendo reaching out to another section of the market, the people who only buy the GTA games, sport games. Lets hope Reggies follows through on this, if only to hear the cries of those who have called Nintendo kiddy over the years.
