Nintendo Download Updates (8/11) First Rule about Wii Sports Club…

We’re definitely ramping up the games leading into the holidays, aren’t we? There’s tons to do on both the Wii U and 3DS this week, so cancel everything! We’ll just wait here while you do.

Been staying fit with Wii Fit U? Good! Put it all to good use with Wii Sports Club, with Tennis and Bowling starting you off for now. Test your skills online too! Not enough sports? Maybe some Winter Olympics will make you happy? Then rest up with some bad guy pummeling with Batman, in Arkham Origins, or some light hearted fun with Toki Tori. This week also sees some Pikmin 3 DLC heading your way.

And of course, if you still remember you had a 3DS, then you could always spend some time with two, very different detectives, with Professor Layton and Batman (again) hitting the eShop this week. If you’re a fan of Regular Show, their latest outing in 8-Bit Land is here too.

So, how many of you are scared of your bank account balance this week? Let us know in the comments!

Note: Weekly eShop updates on Fridays have now moved back one hour. It’s now 1am Friday AEDT and 10pm Thursday AWST.

I know that Wii Sports Club has more features than Wii Sports did, but I still think that $13 is too much for each game considering the Wii Sports was free. That means to get all 5 games (when they’re all released) it will be $65, just to play a game everyone already owns and has played, just in HD and supposedly with online play?
I guess I’ll know for sure if it’s worth it after the free try, but if I do decide to buy the games, it will probs just be Tennis and Baseball because they were the best ones.

I’m surprised to see the low price drop for the Ubisoft games, I just figured last week was just a sale but it’s good because now we can expect to see more cheap permanent price drops for retail games in the future.
I’m definitely interested in trying out Assassins Creed 3 for only $17.45, but the 17gb download size isn’t worth it because then I have to buy a compatible hard drive and that seems more like a hassle >.<

Just to end my rant on a positive note, yay for Pikmin 3 DLC 🙂

I purchased a physical copy of Regular Show last night at Big W for $58, assuming that would be cheaper than the eshop. Wow that must be a first that the eshop is cheaper (unless $51.95 was a typo). Oh well at least I got a physical case and manual (if you can call a trifolded piece of card a manual lol).

Not sure if I’m sold on Wii Sports club either, I could just slot the old faithful Wii disc in as I’m not too concerned about online play. Worth a shot for the free 24 hours though I guess

I was considering giving the day pass for Wii Sports Club a go considering that paying $2.60 here and there wouldn’t break the bank, and at least I wouldn’t have buyers remorse if the game is released as a physical disc, but $2.60 per sport is just ridiculous. You can buy Wii Sports + Wii Sports Resort for $50 and that includes 15 sports (17 if you include the non-motionplus versions of bowling and golf), which is a much better deal for those who are willing to play the sports in SD and without online capabilities.
