Nintendo Direct incoming – Wii U & 3DS focused – February 14th

Marge, the rains are here!
This article is more than 12 years old.

It’s felt like forever, but there is finally a Nintendo Direct on the way and it will of course focus on the Wii U and 3DS games launching this year before the end of Autumn (May).

The timing for this Nintendo Direct is a little different than before, it’s on Valentine’s Day which is this Friday, February 14th at 9:00 a.m. (AEDT). Least now we won’t have to explain to our partners why we’re watching Mr Iwata and Shibata on the computer like last year.

Will the odd timing of the Direct bring something special? We can only hope. Iwata even felt compelled to apologise to Japanese Nintendo fans on Twitter about the time change. So it should be something good right?

After last month’s disastrous financial results and lack of releases this year things have been down for Nintendo and for Nintendo fans, this week’s eShop update is also looking pretty grim so far – this Direct it’s kind of a big deal.

No pressure now.

I believe it focuses on “Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games launching by the end of spring”. No need to get our hopes up about new announcements, Vooks.

Announcement I got simply said ‘in 2014’. It now says ‘Autumn 2014’. They changed it.

I don’t try ever to get anyone hopes up, what would be the point?

Daniel just inadvertently hyped this Nintendo Direct. Hopefully they do show off some new games but e3 isn’t too far away so I’m not so sure.
