Nintendo Direct broadcasts will continue on without Iwata

Just not for a while.

Since the passing of Satoru Iwata there hasn’t been a single Nintendo Direct broadcast, it would probably have been in poor taste to do one so soon.

Satoru Iwata was the literal face of the Nintendo Direct and without him you’d have forgiven Nintendo if could have thrown the entire concept away and come up with something fresh. This however won’t be the case and Nintendo Direct broadcasts will continue.

Speaking to IGN, Nintendo has given the following up on the regular broadcasts;

Nintendo Directs will continue, but we have no details to provide now on who will be featured or the topics that will be covered.

So the Direct will live on, but just who will be at the helm remains unclear. Hopefully there’s a chance here for more regional Directs, like the one where we got the New 3DS months before everyone else – that was great!
