Nintendo and Breath of the Wild storm the DICE Awards

Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and even Snipperclips also picking up awards.

Another awards ceremony and more awards for Nintendo’s efforts in 2017. The 21st DICE Awards took place in Las Vegas today and there was a lot of Zelda there. The DICE awards are hosted and chosen by the members of the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was the big winner taking away Game of the Year, Outstanding Achievement In Game Direction, Outstanding Achievement in Game Design and Adventure Game of the Year.

Ubisoft’s Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle picked up the award for Best Strategy/Simulation Game of the Year and Metroid: Samus Returns took out Best Handheld Game. Nintendo also won an award for a game not on one of their systems, Fire Emblem Heroes won best mobile release of the year.

There were also awards for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Racing Game of the Year), Super Mario Odyssey (Outstanding Achievement in Sound Design) and even Snipperclips picked up two awards (D.I.C.E. Sprite and Family Game of the Year).
