The figures leaked yesterday, but Nintendo Australia just wants to make sure we know how well they did last year. You know, in case we forget how wealthy and successful they are. Not only was the Nintendo DS the best selling console of 2008, but it now has been for the third year in a row. Since its launch in 2005 the consoles sales year on year just keep going up. One the Wii front, the console has reached 1 million units sold in 111 weeks on sale the fastest selling console to reach that mark; previously it was the Nintendo at 152 weeks. More inside Nintendo also reminded us that it took 8 of the slots on the top ten games list sold last year in the country. That’s Below.

From the list of the top 10 console games for 2008, eight out of the 10 are titles played on Wii or Nintendo DS Wii Fit (1), Wii Play (2), Mario Kart Wii (3), Mario & Sonic At The Olympics Wii (4) Brain Training (7), Mario & Sonic At The Olympics Nintendo DS (8), Super Smash Bros.
