Nintendo Australia kicks off the new year with 2 events.

As they say there is no rest for the wicked, and Nintendo Australia has just announced 2 more Wii-centric events that will take place in Melbourne during January. And of course, Nintendo have some great prizes to give away, sadly its seems only Melbournians will be able to take part.

The first event is a Wii Tennis Tournament, where the final four will go up against Australian Tennis Champions, Pat Cash and Mark Woodforde. The winner takes home a Wii! The second event is a preview of Wario Ware Smooth Moves, no tennis greats at this one but a chance to win Smooth Moves a whole week before it’s local release!

Celebrity Play-off Event

Qualifiers
When: Monday 15 January – Thursday 18 January
Time: 12 noon – 2pm
Please note that Wii Tennis will be available to play during the entire day.
Where: Myer Melbourne City, Ground Floor, Lonsdale Street entrance

Finals
When: Friday 19 January
Time: 1pm
Where: Myer Melbourne City, Ground Floor, Lonsdale Street entrance

Rules:
– The qualifying rounds during Monday 15 January – Thursday 18 January will consist of Wii Tennis. Each game is a knock-out game. Runners-up will be able to compete more than once per day if there is time and spaces.
– After the allocated competition time, if there are 2 or more competitors with the same amount of wins, they will compete in a decider.
– Players can select from the available Mii characters. Players cannot bring their own Mii.

Wario Ware Smooth Moves Event

When: Thursday 18 January, 9am – 9pm
Friday 19 January, 9am – 5pm
Saturday 20 January, 9am – 5pm
Sunday 21 January, 10am – 5pm

Where: Macquarie Centre, Sydney – Centre Court
