Marketing expenses were up as well, up 68.2% to $10.6 million over the last fiscal year which means Nintendo are getting their pretty head out to the public more so than usual. In comparison, Sony spent $3 million on PS2 advertising during Christmas alone as the Ultimate Party machine.
Amazingly Nintendo Australia has managed to preform so strongly even with fewer employees. This success can mainly be directed to the launch of their new system as well as toward the undeniable global phenomenon that has been the Nintendo DS. With huge titles such as Mario Galaxy, Paper Mario, Smash Bros, Metroid, Zelda and new Brain Training titles, this fiscal year should prove to be just as successful.
