Despite earlier reports, Michael Atkinsons replacement is still undecided on the R18+ rating

The new South Australian Attorney-General is still undecided on his support of the R18+, but he isn’t ruling it out entirely yes.

While John Rau has never previously stated a position on the issue, Chris Prior from Gamers 4 Croydon went on record on Twitter to say that he was not only a nice guy but was in favour of the rating. However this isn’t the case it seems, as Gamespot AU today had word with Mr Rau and had this to say "I have no preconceptions about this issue and intend to listen to the arguments. I can neither support nor wisely argue against a position if I am not aware of the relevant factors.

"It is worth noting that ultimately, the decision does not rest with me alone. Any change would require the support of each jurisdiction’s attorney-general."

There’s a SGAG meeting in early May 7 where the issue will be discussed and hopefully his and other Attorney General’s opinion will be known, just don’t expect a flat decision on the issue then.
