Nintendo’s Miiverse has been a little bit of a hit for Nintendo, but they know they can do better. That’s why Satoru Iwata has revealed some new features and changes coming to the fledgling social network.
One of the most long awaited features that is coming is the mobile version of the Miiverse which is coming this Autumn (spring in the northern hemisphere) with the first Wii U system update this year. It will only be a web based version for now, but a full app is coming later.
Nintendo is also implementing some other new features including the ability for users to create their own communities (think Mario Kart 7) as well as games having the ability to have more than one community on Miiverse.Wii Fit U is one of the first games that will use this feature.
This could come in handy for spoilers! There are also improvements to usability coming as well as a filtering function.
Not to mention that Wii U Virtual Console games will also have Miiverse built in too.
What about for 3DS?
They have said that is coming in future but nothing was announced today.
That will be a different nintendo direct. I have heard that the 3DS is scheduled for an update in MARCH.
this will add the ability to move game saves to/from retail/digital versions..
