NBA Playgrounds 2 delayed just days before release

by Daniel VuckovicMay 18, 2018

NBA Playgrounds 2 was just a couple of days away from release and now it’s been pulled. Saber Interactive has now said the game will miss that date and instead come out at a later, unspecified time.

We’ve got some news to share, but we want to start by saying ‘good things come to those who wait.’ There are exciting things brewing with the NBA Playgrounds franchise that we think will take arcade basketball to new levels.

We can’t tell you everything now, but we can tell you that this means our launch date of May 22nd will be moved out. Please be patient with us, we promise that NBA Playgrounds 2 will be better than ever. We’ll have more details to share soon.

The original NBA Playgrounds has terrible delays for updates on the Switch, and eventually a whole new version of the game released to get around it.

We’ll let you know once we have a new release date.

NBA Playgrounds 1 was one of the worst released in recent memory. The Switch port in particular was terrible at launch. The free “Gold” edition upgrade done very little to save the title. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice……I think I will pass.
