Monster Hunter Rise Limited Edition console, Pro Controller coming to Australia

Update: The bundle has now been confirmed for Australia, as well as the pro controller. The bundle contains a download code for the game, Deluxe Kit DLC and bonus content. We’ll get pricing from Nintendo Australia as soon as possible. See Update 2 below.

Update 2: Nintendo Australia has confirmed local pricing for both the special edition console and the special edition Pro Controller via a press release. The Monster Hunter special edition Switch console (which includes the game and a deluxe upgrade pack, both digitally) will launch at an RRP of $569.95, while the Monster Hunter Pro Controller will launch at an RRP of $109.95. Both will be available on the game’s launch day, the 26th of March.

Original Story: Nintendo has revealed a new limited edition Monster Hunter Rise themed Nintendo Switch. The console comes with a Monster Hunter themed console, dock and a copy of the game.

So far this has only been confirmed for Japan, and will release on March 26th, the same date as the game.

There’s also a themed Pro Controller which will be released on the same day but available separately. Even if we don’t get the console, the controller is a little bit more import friendly.

There’s no word just yet if we’ll get this locally.

That’s extremely crappy of them to attach a whopping $100 premium when they aren’t even including a physical copy of the game in the box. Even if one were to sell the code to put it toward a physical copy of the game, one is unlikely to get the full $100 for it. Hell, they could have thrown in an amiibo figure for good measure. As nice as it is otherwise, I have no interest in the bundle (though I’ll probably pick up the Pro Controller).
