Miitomo is doing really well in Japan, currently topping the charts

Miitomo, Nintendo’s first mobile game launched this week in Japan and the game is doing really well so far. The game is currently sitting at the top of both the free games and free social networking games on the App Store.

Of course these charts aren’t a concrete tool to gauge on as they’re reculcated far to quickly. Instead there’s see what Nintendo has to say about it;

We had a good start and have received very positive feedback. Miitomo will continue to evolve.

Oh ok…. well that’s good. What about all those analysts who see, to know way to little much.

This should remove any doubts about the Nintendo brand’s relevancy in the smartphone age. More than just a messaging tool, Miitomo can be a platform for distributing Nintendo content, and probably third-party content at a later stage.

Ah that’s better.

We also took these screenshots of the the app store in Japan so you can take a look at what it’s up against.

    Not going to lie, I thought this sounded terrible at first but the more I read about it the better it is sounding. Looking forward to it.

    Promising, if this can be a mix of Miiverse and the eshop then Nintendo are onto something.
