Lord of the Rings: Conquest set for next year

by Daniel VuckovicNovember 2, 2008

Electronic Arts have announced that The Lord of the Rings: Conquest for the Nintendo DS, PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 will hit Aussie shelves January 15, 2009. The game was created by the same team behind the Star Wars Battlefront and Battlefront II games. Set in the universe created by J.R.R. Tolkien and depicted in the award-winning films, players will “”finally fight the entirety of these epic battles any way they want.”” More inside For all those who want to get in touch with their dark side, you will – for the first time in a LotR title – have the ability to take control of Sauron’s evil army.

Cave-trolls, Oliphaunts, the Balrog, Sauron himself and more will finally be at your command. You can still, of course, play the good guys. The game is aimed at both Lord of the Rings fans and those who enjoyed Star Wars Battlefront. Once again, the game will hit Australian shelves January 15 – expect the Middle-Earth release date to follow soon after.
