LEGO Dimensions is no more

Warner Bros. has today announced the there will be no more expansion packs for LEGO Dimensions, effectively ending the game.

In a statement posted on social media, the company says “After careful consideration, we will not be producing new expansions for the game beyond what is now available.” The game will still be supported and the existing packs will remain on sale. However long they stay on sale for, who knows.

When a Switch version of the game wasn’t announced, that should have been enough to tell us there wasn’t any more coming. Damn shame.

A valiant game and very clever concept which was both amazing and damn frustrating: I’ve got it on Xbox One and sick of the seemingly daily 10GB updates! The LEGO minifigures and associated “vehicles”were really well done, and the rebuild options in-game ensured a built-in replay value.

I always wondered how the stand-alone LEGO games would survive with Dimensions: I guess this cancellation notice is the answer.
