Rockstar Games have announced that L.A. Noire is coming back and it’s coming to the Nintendo Switch.

L.A. Noire will not only be coming to the Switch but also to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and there is also a VR version of the game featuring select missions from the game for the HTC Vive.

The Switch version features the complete, original game, all the downloadable content and specific enhancements for the Switch. The game includes motion control aiming, gesture based controls, HD rumble and even uses the touch screen for portable detective work.

Australian developers Team Bondi developed L.A. Noire original before shutting soon after its release.

L.A. Noire takes place in the seedy and violent underbelly of 1940’s Los Angeles as decorated veteran and newly minted detective, Cole Phelps investigates an escalating series of cases inspired by real-world crimes. Each successfully solved case brings Phelps greater success, but also brings him closer to the dark criminal heart of post-war L.A. The game was an Official Selection of the Tribeca Film Festival for its cinematic approach to gameplay and narrative.

Utilizing a unique type of facial capture technology called MotionScan, L.A. Noire breathes unprecedented life into character performances, creating brand new gameplay out of the art of interrogation.

The game is out November 14. We’ve included the original trailer below;

      Phantom Ganon, have you seen LA Confidential with Guy Pearce and Russell Crowe? If that movie was to be turned into a game, then this would be it. LA Noire features a comparable atmosphere, era, and setting. Team Bondi put a lot of care into recreating 1950s LA and packed in a lot of great detail, which you will see in a long drive across town. It even includes licensed vehicles from the era! The facial scan tech they used for the actors might not hold up so well today, but it works very well for what they were trying to achieve. It’s well worth your purchase if you’ve not played it before.

    I wanted to play this for years on PC but never got around to it. My understanding is its similar to Mafia which I loved, so if so I am pretty excited for this.

    Heya Phantom,

    Played this all the way back when it was fresh released on Xbox 360. It’s definately a decent game – but it’s not GTA if thats what you’re looking for from Rock*.

    Had some crazy face capture tech they used for all the questioining/interviews – was ahead of it’s time, that said i’m not sure i’ve seen it used since.

    Defintaely more a cinematic expereince than full on action.

    There’s be heaps of reviews on youtube for it from the big names and little – i’d go look there.

    I got hungup on collecting all evidence and catching every lie and kinda ruined it for myself an never completed it – i’ll be giving it another crack with a different mindset I think.
