Folks, hold onto your hats, because this is the announcement you’ve all been waiting for. The best Kirby game is coming to 3DS.

Nintendo announced during today’s Nintendo Direct presentation that the extraordinarily cute Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn will be launching on the 3DS in 2019. Kirby’s Epic Yarn initially released on the Nintendo Wii back in 2011 to critical acclaim, and the new 3DS port looks to build on that experience with a swathe of new stuff. Alongside featuring every single level from the Wii version, Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn will feature new abilities, a new Devilish mode to offer a bit of challenge for those who want it, and a bunch of new minigames which let you play as characters not seen in the original release, like King Dedede and Meta Knight.

It’s currently unknown if the co-op multiplayer seen in the original will feature in the new version, but we’ll keep an eye out and update you as we find out more.

Grr… the most aggravating announcement in the Direct.

It’s even more annoying considering that the Switch got a “plain Jane” Kirby while the 3DS gets the cool stuff (Robobot and now this).
