Japanese line for Wii as launch approaches

by Daniel VuckovicNovember 30, 2006

Japanese gamers are queuing up like crazy to get their hands on the Wii. As this article is typed the Wii is just a scant hour away from launch in its home territory of Japan. People have being lining up since 8 am in the morning to get their hands on the machine.

Most stores seem to be using a ticket system to keep order and those not after a Wii have been told to move on. The stores not using one of these tickets systems have hectic lines circling blocks and people filling basement car parks just get the console. Most stores have around 800 Wii consoles.

Famitsu online has some early pictures from the crazy lines, head inside for a look.
