There’s always regional differences between the Nintendo Direct and this week’s was no exception.
Nintendo has announced for Japan a Limited Edition New Nintendo 3DS that looks exactly like a Super Famicom aka Super Nintendo.
We already had the matching coloured buttons but now the shade of grey is the same as the SNES, the secondary buttons have changed to be the same as the colour on the SNES unit and the top is adorned with a SNES design. Amazing.
It will be released in Japan this April, we’ve reached out to Nintendo Australia to demand ask for the release of this and we’ll let you know if we hear anything. 
It should be pointed out that it is a New 3DS LL. Read the back label!
If this ever comes out, I will get it for sure…dang how many new 3ds xl models have come out in just less than 2 years, crazy!
I’d been holding off getting a New 3DS in case a cool limited edition came out . . . and this is totally the one that would convince me to take the plunge. Nintendo Australia had better get on to releasing this here.
