On Pricing of Revolution Games: “”I cannot imagine any first party title [on Revolution] could be priced more than $50,”” he said. “”I really don’t think that there’s going to be a lot of acceptance by current customers of the $60 price tag.”” Instead of the current pricing ($119.95) we have for some Xbox 360 games, expect Revolution games to stay near the $99.99 mark.

Iwata also mentioned that the USB ports that are built into the Revolution can also be used to expand the storage memory of the Revolution, with practically any storage method”” being able to be used. Expect support not only for SD cards (in the front 2 slots) but also USB Flash Drives and even portable Hard Drives.

Moving onto the Virtual Console, Mr Iwata revealed that “”A number of different publishers are now interested in participating in this virtual console system.”” Could that mean even more non-Nintendo games, or even more games from other systems? We’ll have to wait and see. Mr Iwata also mentioned that the Virtual Console system might not just be a simple pay and download service. We can set some limitations as to the time period a piece of downloaded content can be played. Or, we may opt to let users play as long as they want. This gives us a flexible business model.”” While news of a subscription service or rentals for the Virtual Console is not new, its good to see Nintendo still thinking about how the Virtual Console will work and providing us with different options.
