It’s Official: Nintendo has sold 100 million DS units worldwide

by Daniel VuckovicMarch 11, 2009

Nintendo has just confirmed that the Nintendo DS (all iterations) has passed 100 million units sold worldwide. This impressive achievement comes just before Nintendo gets set to launch the third iteration of the console outside Japan. The Nintendo DS first went on sale in Japan on the 21st of November 2004 but it took Nintendogs and Brain Training to bring the DS to the masses. In comparison the original Gameboy line (original Color) has sold 118 million and the Gameboy Advance sold 81 million. The DS still needs another 50 million to topple the PS2 juggernaut. Can it be done? Source: Nintendo
