Golf Story is filled with Australian humour and slang, which makes sense because it’s actually developed here by the team at Sidebar Games.
There’s now also another very good reason why the game is so Australian as well, the world of Golf Story is set in Australia, in fact – the world of Golf Story is Australia. The entire continent.
Toward the end of the game the pans out to reveal the entire game map as Australia, it even has Tasmania.

That’s a bit awesome. After mentally pigeonholing it as a spiritual successor to Mario Golf Advance Tour I’ve been sorely tempted to pick it up. Now that I know that it’s done by a local mob I’ll definitely have to snag a copy.
