It’s now time to chalk up Gearbox Software as anoyher third party developer now working on Wii. Speaking to IGN, Gearbox had the following to say “”Gearbox Software is enthusiastically supporting the Wii,”” said company president Randy Pitchford. The company head had comment on what Wii projects it could be working on, saying only that, “”At this time, we don’t have any announcements to make about specific games we may be developing for Wii.””

Pitchford went on to comment about Wii and its strengths and weaknesses, pointing out that becuase of the unuiqe interface that “”makes it more difficult to amortize larger AAA budgets across more customers from multiple platforms””. However he pointed out that “”[the] strengths of the Nintendo Wii include the price, the unique interface, the sure-bet library of games based on the great Nintendo properties and the promise back catalogue of classic games from Nintendo and others that they have partnered with””

Gearbox is famous for the Brothers in Arms series, their latest title Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway is scheduled to hit the consoles later this year, however the “”leaked”” release date from Ubisoft earlier in the year did have Brothers in Arms listed for the then named Revolution.

As usual time will tell as to what Gearbox is working on, but its great to see further third party support.
