GDC: Professor Layton sequel confirmed for western release

Professor Layton and the Curious Village good game huh? A sequel would be nice oh wait, theres already two out in Japan, along with a whole new trilogy set to release this year. Well good news, rest of the world, confirmation of the first English language sequel in the Layton series has come through after Akihiro Hino confirmed it during a Q & A session this morning at the GDC. Hino head developer at Level 5 Games produced a list of games which included Professor Layton and the Curious Box which is the confirmed westernized version of Japans The Devils Box. More inside Those wondering why sequels havent been released in western territories, where the original remains successful, must understand that many of the games unique puzzles are not instantly translatable, as many of the fiendish riddles rely on word play and tricks of the Japanese language. Hino had indicated that he hopes to see the sequel available within six months.
