As the year continues to move forwards, even more games have been announced for Nintendo Switch and this week is a big one, with 13 titles here, not to mention the announcement of Shining Resonance Refrain coming from Sega. But without further delay, let’s get going.

Varion

Varion is a 3D arcade-action top-down “brawler”, featuring couch multiplayer battles for 1 to 4 players. Set in a futuristic universe, it allows the players to control robots fighting in a infinite amount of booby-trapped, procedurally generated arenas during restless, fast-paced battles.

Duck Game

Announced via the developers blog, Duck Game is coming to Switch, but as of now, that is all we know. The game was originally released for the Ouya, if you can remember that and was worked on by the developer Landon Podbielski, with help from Monogame. It is being worked on, but no release window has been provided, nor any details about what Switch owners might expect.

Eternum

From developer Back to Basic Gaming comes Eternum, a game inspired by titles like Ghost n’ Ghouls or Bomb Jack from the arcades. Players will find a mix of retro platforming action, but modern day addiction in this one, but the wait is going to be real, as no release date has been announced yet.

Yesterday Origins

A listing from the USK, that’s the German ratings board has Pendulo’s critical hit, Yesterday Origins coming to Switch. Gamers will take on the role of both John Yesterday and his other half Pauline, not only across the world, but across time itself. As John is exposed to an alchemical experiment that causes him to gain immortality, but when he ‘dies’ and is reborn, he has no memory of his past life.

Trailblazers

Trailblazers is a co-op racing title where players need to paint the track, do that and then you can boost on your colour. Racing in teams of up to three-versus-three, players paint the track as they race, capturing key areas to dynamically change the racing line, then boosting on their team’s color. Think Splatoon meets Fast RMX and you will get the idea.

A Hole New World

Originally intended for Wii U, Mad Gear Games has announced that A Hole New World will soon release on Switch instead, in fact its coming March 1st. Players will take on the role of the Potion Master and along with your companion Fäy, you will have to fight the hordes of evil creatures from the Upside Down World, the catch, there is no tutorial, no easy mode, just jumping and shooting.

Milanoir

If you have ever wanted to explore a pixel version of Italy in the 70’s then you are in luck as that is what you can do in Milanoir. Players will need to sneak and shoot their way through the italian underworld, in an attempt to locate the man who framed you. The game even offers a full local co-op mode, where each player can complete the campaign, by using a single Joy-Con.

Muddledash

It is time for you to get on your eight legs and get to the party, as in Muddledash, that is the entire game. In levels that are randomly created, you and three friends, via local co-op will have to run, jump, dash and more to get to the most happening party of the year, there is only one catch, you can’t turn up to a party without a present and there is only one present around. The game is coming this Autumn, though a specific date has not yet been announced.

Damascus Gear: Operation Tokyo

In the future mankind developed large machines called GEARs, which when piloted by mankind, allowed for some incredible feats to be accomplished, but something has gone wrong and the machines have stopped listening and in their revolt, have forced mankind underground, literally. With gameplay more akin to Diablo than your standard mech game, players will find lots to discover, with plenty of loot to go around and the best news, its out on March 1st.

Little Triangle

Do you like party games, how about battle royale games, well how about both? With Little Triangle, you get both, to begin there is the platformer mode, which features jumping as its core playing experience and two difficulty levels, casual or hardcore, are available for players to choose from. If you wanted something more chaotic there is the mini battle royale, which is an enhanced mode with different mechanics and is aiming to deliver a hilarious experience. The game is due out in early March in Japan, with a western release expected soon after.

A Normal Lost Phone

Coming at the start of March is A Normal Lost Phone, a game all about discovering what is on a phone you found in the street. Using the text messages, apps, videos and more contained on the phone, you need to discover who the owner is, in an attempt to return the phone to them, well, if you are able to. The game is playable in both landscape, the normal way you hold your Switch or portrait mode, for those wanting a more authentic phone experience.

Urban Trial Playground

Urban Trial Playground is coming to Switch and the best news is that it’s an exclusive for the platform. If you are thinking the name sounds familiar, the series has done really well on Nintendo 3DS and other platforms, but now instead of grimy back alleys and abandoned warehouses, the game is hitting the sun soaked beaches of California. Players will also get to experience a new way of playing with the brakes now being independent, giving even more control over your motion and when combined with the trick system, the options are pretty limitless. With multiple modes and leaderboards to boot, there is a lot to do when the game releases this April.

Paper Wars: Cannon Fodder Devastated

Polish developer iFun4all is releasing their second Switch title next month in the form of Paper Wars: Cannon Fodder Devastated, a remake of the Wii game Paper Wars. Prepare to face wave after wave of enemy soldiers and vehicles trying to cross the battlefield, but you can’t let them. Collect power-ups to call in an airstrike, use a special triple-shot skill, or slow time, well, to slow time, just be careful to avoid friendly fire.

Quite a range of games offered here, Diablo style rpg’s, tower defence, mysteries and more, I know a few have got my attention, how about yours? As always, if you are making a Switch game, we would love to know about it, so be sure to use that handy ‘Contact Us’ form to let us know.
