by Luke HendersonMay 12, 2018

This week, we have seen a lot of games announced for Switch, thanks in part to the BitSummit event happening in Japan. While we have had only a small handful the past few weeks, this week we are back into double digits, even with the announcement of Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX and Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon. So without any extra delay, let’s get to it.

The Mystery of the Hudson Case

In 1979, a daring journalist sets out to investigate on his own, after continuous disapproval by his editorial department, the famous case of the Hudson Family, whose political allies have helped keep them from being tied to any illegal affairs. Now, journalist James O’Connell must travel to the state of Louisiana, where a difficult task awaits him if he intends to bring to light all the mysteries that may have been hidden for more than a hundred years in that mansion.

Dungeon Rushers

Be part of an epic adventure with a colorful cast of characters in an off-beat universe. Build your own dungeon and challenge other players; build your own team by choosing the best hero combination to overcome traps and monsters lurking in the shadows. Upgrade the skills of your heroes to make them even more fearsome and place them strategically to achieve victory.

Of Carrots And Blood

You will be thrown into a combination of old school arcade action, bullet hell chaos, cute retro pixel art and romantic love affair where the only thing that matters is to survive the never ending waves of mutants while defending a giant carrot and making out with your partner. To release the tension during breaks, you can kiss your beloved bunny partner anytime in the game with the patented POWER KISS MECHANIC!

Midnight Cathedral

A village filled with mystery. The arrival of a saint. Resignation and delight. A merging of the living and the dead. The story starts in Daiusu-mura, a village where refugee Christians have been residing since olden days. Protagonist Hamomoru Tachibana has been invited by the villagers to visits this place, a long-desired hallowed cathedral has just been built and villagers are in a festive mood. However, the village has a tragic history of persecution.

Inspired by classic films like Caliber 9 and Almost Human, Milanoir is a story of greed, betrayal and revenge drawn to life with stylish pixel art graphics and a funky ‘70s soundtrack. Sneak, choke and shoot through the violent criminal underbelly of Milan on the hunt for the man who framed you, surviving breathtaking vehicle chases and gunfights while taking out anyone who stands in your way.

Warriors Orochi 4

The next entry in the long running, Warriors Orochi series is coming to Switch, sometime in 2018. The re-assembled heroes are faced with yet another new battle. The key to solving this mysterious situation and returning the world back to normal are eight ‘bracelets’ that possess great power. In search of these bracelets, the heroes clash against on another with their individual convictions. While we do not have a trailer yet, check out this shot of all the playable characters, yes, all of them.

Awkward is a simple proposition on paper, inviting players to answer a series of questions about themselves, choosing between two distinct answers. The twist comes when fellow players must guess how the first one responded each time, testing how well they know each other. Guess correctly, and the game recognises and rewards the compatibility. Designed for up to six players, will you reveal yourself to be a true friend, or will your answer be awkward.

N++ is a fast-paced, momentum-based platformer where you get to play as a badass parkour-loving ninja, narrowly escaping enemies and collecting gold in sci-fi landscapes. Smooth, sleek and thrilling. 4340 hand-crafted, finely tuned levels in 3 game modes: Solo, Co-op and Race. Imagine yourself at the top of the podium. Enjoy a fine selection of sport disciplines, ranging from the frantic and fast paced to the relaxed and playful

Asura is a top-down, Hack ‘n’ Slash game set in a fantasy world inspired by the richness of Indian mythology. It features heavy rogue-like elements and a unique procedural skill tree which changes on every play-through. Reincarnated as a demon, use your new-found powers and hatred to invade the ‘Pancha Dvora’- the five fortresses of the Daeva empire. Embark on a journey to exact your vengeance against Hasirama – The God-King, Maharaja, and Slayer of Innocents.

Mars Horizon

Mars Horizon is a strategy game in which players control a government space agency. Picking between the space agencies of either Europe, Russia, or the United States, the players then control the agency to collaborate or compete in a decades-spanning campaign to expand humanity’s reach further into space. With each game an alternate history begins to be shaped and guided by the player’s actions, building iconic rockets, probes, and satellites that transmit crucial scientific data back to your customisable Earth HQ, all the while researching, investing in, and bolstering your space flight capabilities.

So not a bad week, there were a lot of games announced during BitSummit, that have not yet had any sort of confirmation outside of Japan, so only time will tell there.
