Friend codes to be attached to Miis?

by Daniel VuckovicMay 27, 2007

In Nintendos efforts to make online gaming easier they made friend codes, which made it harder. Now they are possibly confusing us and all consumers even more with another way to attach friend codes to online games. According to an interview with Next Level Games, the developers of Mario Strikers Charged, each Mii used in the game will generate a Mii Friend Code that will remain constant throughout all titles in the future.

More Inside
This is great news, sure its not the complete abolishment of friend codes but having one friend code for your Mii is a good half way point, however the confusing bit begins to happen when you get WiiConnect24 enabled titles which use the Wiis System code (the one in the address book). Games like Eledees and the upcoming Big Brain Academy use this function where as the upcoming Pokemon Battle Revolution uses its own friend code due to Pokmon Diamond and Pearl link up.

Having your own friend code on your Wii, that is persistent across all games is great though. Lets just hope Nintendo kicks off a WFC channel so we can see what all our friends are doing or similar.
