StreetPass focus could limit potential outside Japan
A leaked scan of the latest issue of CoroCoro magazine has revealed a new Pokemon game for the Nintendo 3DS, Band of Thieves & 1000 Pokémon.
It will be free and released on the eShop on June 5th and only available for a limited time. Band of Thieves & 1000 Pokémon uses StreetPass as its main gameplay mechanic which means its unlikely we will see the game here.
The game will tie in with the latest Pokemon movie, Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction. You collect Pokemon by collecting StreetPass hits. The more Pokemon you have the better chance you have of beating the thieves. Since StreetPassing in Japan is huge the game should work terrific there.
Anywhere else? Who knows.
Pokémon the Movie: Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction is coming to the west later this year so it is possible we could see this game – but don’t cry for it if we don’t.
