Nintendo partners with Nippon Television and Fuji Television to deliver daily programming downloads

From tomorrow, Nintendo will be be delivering downloadable television programs to Japanese 3DS users. Called "Itsu no Ma ni Terebi" (roughly, "Spot TV"), this super cool service will utilise the 3DSs SpotPass feature to automatically download 3D programs. The content is entirely original, developed specifically for the 3DS by the two television companies.

The initial programming schedule announced by Nintendo includes Nittele Doubutsu de Calendar (a program showing animals in 3D); Tetsu View 3D (featuring introductions to trains and train stations); Magic Class 3D (performances of magic tricks by famous magicians); my personal favourite, Idoling Sumo 3DS (featuring a popular all-female group competing in a variety of challenges such as sumo wrestling); Nikkan Topics (an information program); 3D Choukoku no Mori (a showcase of sculptures from an outdoor museum in Hakone, Kanagawa); and Enjoy Sport (delivered from Fuji TV for erm…doing exactly that).

The app will be free to download from the eShop, although the content will be supported by advertising. We love original content here on Vooks, but unfortunately you shouldnt expect this one to make an appearance on Australian 3DS systems. We have a Japanese 3DS and will bring you some videos of the channel in action however!
