Hold on Mario Kart 8 fans, there’s not long to wait now for the first round of downloadable content to hit. It will be released on November 13th and during the Direct some more footage of the new stages included as well as the characters was shown off.

In addition to showing off the new Zelda, Excitebike and F-Zero tracks in action we could also see some returning retro tracks including the SNES Rainbow Road. The music playing over the trailer too is something you have to hear.

Amiibo support for Mario Kart 8 was detailed. If you use any of the ‘Smash Bros compatible’ amiibo figures in the game you’ll be able to unlock a racing suit skin of that character to apply to your Mii racer.

We’ll confirm with Nintendo Australia that November 13th is out release date too, it may be a day after due to time differences.
