Farfetch’d is finally getting the evolution it deserves in Pokémon Sword and Shield
The Pokémon Company promised new Pokémon Sword and Shield news, and it… kind of delivered? It’s a small bit of news, but it’s still exciting.
Everyone’s favourite duck friend Farfetch’d, a Pokémon that frankly isn’t very good, is finally getting a new evolution: Sirfetch’d. After a playful tease last week, we can finally see the new duck knight in all its glory.
Sirfetch’d is a pure Fighting-type Pokémon with the ability Steadfast, which raises the user’s speed when the Pokémon flinches. It also has a new exclusive move called Meteor Assault, a powerful Fighting-type move that causes the user to rest for the following turn, kind of like Hyper Beam.
Sirfetch’d will be exclusive to Pokémon Sword, and it’s currently unknown what its Shield counterpart will be, if anything at all. We’ll just have to wait and see.
There was an evolution leaked in the 1997 GSC beta named Madame. Perhaps they can revive that for Shield version as a counterpart to Sirfetch’d.
