It’s time to wear your cap backwards, put a fresh set of batteries in the Game Boy because A*mazing is making a return to television screens after 17 years.

Today Channel Seven, Endemol Australia and Nintendo Australia have announced that the TV show that captivated a generation weekday afternoons will be returning after Easter on Channel Seven. Schools from New South Wales will have to use social media to fight for their right to get on the show. Each subsequent season willl move from state to state.

The mazes which featured in the show are this time going to be bigger than ever with modern technology and touch screens integrated into the game this time around, kids who play will still have to hunt and find the old fashioned way through cars, dunnies and more just like before.

While some new things are expected, some things will remain the same with James Sherry returning to host the show. He’s been fighting to get the show back for sometime and in the release says “I can’t wait to see how the game plays for a new era”.

Nintendo is back as well with the contestants competing against each other with Wii U titles during Monday to Thursday and every Friday on the show the Nintendo 64 or Super Nintendo Entertainment System will be dusted off to see if kids today still can rock Cruis’n USA, Mario Paint Swatter and more surprise games.
