The ratings board in America, the ESRB, has put a kibosh on the fun of figuring out a game’s release date before they were officially announced due to their ratings being posted online. From now on publishers, who wish to keep a game secret, will have the option to disallow a rating being posted until a specific date if they so choose. The change was made after many an outcry from publishers. More inside
The OFLC, like the ESRB, has a classification database that can be viewed online, and many games such as Mega Man 9 and Virtual Console releases have been revealed through it as well. Could the days of early leaks be coming to a end?
