ESA talks up the E3’s return to form
E3 last year wasdifferent. All in all it was a bore fest for everything Nintendo, with the exception of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars. The buzz (ever since last years E3 ended) was that it was going to change, because the gaming public was not happy. Well now the ESA has informed the public that publishers will be able to do anything they want and are encouraged to be as creative as possible. Lets hope Nintendo this year, talks less about smiles and more about the games. More inside. The ESAs SVP of Communications and Research Rich Taylor has said the following; There was definitely a feedback that while there was a lot of appreciation from the media perspective of more access to publishers and the return of centralization there was also a cry to return to a bit of the buzz and excitement and sort of identity that each of the publishers and participants in E3 bring to the table. By letting them expand their presence a bit, letting them put their personalities into the display place itself each will be able to tell their story the way they want to. Its much better reflective of the industry, which is really special, unique and creative as anything out there. To have a show that doesnt allow that creativity to be expressed and viewed would just not be the course we wanted to go; it was not the feedback we were getting.
