EB Games to start selling updated Switch model this week

Last week it was JB Hi-Fi, this week it’s EB Games’ turn. Starting this week EB will start selling the new longer battery life Switch model for $469AUD. The return to the full RRP price will be somewhat dampened by the inclusion of Sushi Striker and/or Snipperclips Plus, both in physical form.

The older model will remain at $399 until gone.

We confirmed this deal with multiple stores, and while not all stores had stock yet, it was said to be “on its way”. So if you’re after a new Switch model, check your local EB later this week.

It’s a bit shady for EB to ‘jack up’ the price for this newer Switch. Perhaps it’s better to wait until the older allotment is sold out.

EB aren’t “jacking up” anything. $469 is the RRP of the Switch..

$399 is the price for the older model only. It was also reported, perhaps on this very website, that they were selling the new model at JB at the higher price (although probably just a tad lower than RRP-happy EB). The retailers are simply being discreet about it until they sell out of the original models.
