The Sims family just grew by one as the Sims get the 3D treatment

EA has been kind enough to send over a press release letting us know that The Sims 3 is heading to the 3DS next year. Thats 2011 folks. The game joins the rest of the consoles getting the game this year. The game will make use of the 3DSs camera for face mapping and have connectivity like never before.

“We’re bringing players the first true 3D life simulation game on a handheld utilising the ground
breaking technology of the Nintendo 3DS,” explained Sam Player, Executive Producer at EA. “With
new features like face mapping, a living open neighbourhood, connectivity like never before and an
all-new feature called “Karma Powers,” we’re making it easier than ever for gamers to play with life
from the gaming platform of their choice.”
