Doom and Doom II on Switch patched to remove Bethesda login

It took a little while, but Bethesda has finally delivered what they promised. An update for Doom and Doom II has gone out to remove the Bethesda.net login requirement, which they said was meant to be optional.

The patch also removes the disconnection notification during gameplay should your system lose internet access. It’s Doom for hell’s sake.

Sadly it does not look like any other issues with the ports have been fixed, but they might. An Instagram post from a developer on Doom has posted a video showing the Doom soundtrack playing back through a MIDI device with the caption ‘Fixing some things that need to be fixed.”

We can’t wait for that one.

I really hope that the ‘some things that need fixing’ part includes other things, including the aspect ratio and the inability to select berserk with the chainsaw. The sound is only a minor thing in my eyes but there are genuinely gameplay bugs. I managed to shoot through a few enemies too with the shotgun and event recorded it. Yet its not something anyone else has mentioned as far as i can tell. Im hoping They pick up on a few things we didnt.
