Celebi arrives in Pokémon Go from August 20th
The next special research quest is coming to Pokemon Go, and the reward is the mythical Pokemon Celebi. The quests to get Celebi will begin on August 20th.
Along the way to discovering Celebi’s time-shifting nature, you’ll encounter tasks that will test your skills as a Trainer. Complete tasks to gain XP, receive useful items, and even encounter certain Pokémon on your journey! You can begin completing Special Research on Celebi at any time as long as you have done the third group of tasks related to the Special Research on Mew, and actively finish tasks related to both at your own pace!
Alongside the new quest, Pokemon from the Johto region will spawn more frequently, plus there is new Field Research to do with Johto region Pokemon.
There also a Celebi T-Shirt (which is available now), and Pokémon HeartGold and Pokémon SoulSilver Trainer avatar items in the store depending on how well you’re doing with the Johto medals.
