Hosted by LanSmash, a community-run event organisation group in Brisbane, this years Summer Smash will be running a heap of PC and console-based LAN tournaments. On the Nintendo front, both the Gamecube’s ‘Melee’ and the Wii’s ‘Brawl’ variants of the super popular Smash Bros. series are open for contest. All up, the event organisers are expecting around 180 contestants to show up for the weekend’s various events.

The massive LAN party will be held at the QSAC facility at Suncorp Stadium on Kessels road in Milton, and will run from 9am to 10pm on the Saturday and from 9am to 9pm on the Sunday.

It’ll cost you $15 for one day, or $25 if you wish to attend the whole weekend. There’s a heap of prizes up for grabs, so if you’re a Smash Bros. fan and reckon you can take on the world, be sure to register on the LanSmash official site.
