The esteemed creator of Nintendos mental exercise games on the DS has left the company for Atari to develop similar games for the PC.

‘Brain Exercise with Dr. Kawashima’ developed by Atari and published by Namco Bandai will build upon the exercises pioneered in the DS original, offering 36 exercises designed to train different parts of the brain. Ryuta Kawashima, who is a respected neurophysiologist (brain doctor guy) in his native Japan developed the first Brain Training game in conjunction in Nintendo in 2005. The title proved incredibly successful and paved the way for further non-traditional gaming software appearing on Nintendo platforms. Dr Kawashima’s first PC venture is set to release in PAL territories late next month.
