Big loss for the local game industry as over 100 lose their jobs

There’s no official response yet from Krome, but from what we’ve been told, and is purely evident thanks to old employees taking to Twitter, is that over 100 people at Krome have lost their job. The Adelaide studio has been closed in addition to people from the Melbourne and Brisbane Studios losing their jobs too.

Krome developed Force Unleashed on the Wii, but missed out on the second

Among the many to confirm the news have been The Game Developer’s Association of Australia head, Tony Reed who said via Twitter "Looking for solutions for recently unemployed Krome staff. Big Ant in Melbourne are looking for engine programmers – www.bigant.com".

This is a huge loss for the company who had 400 staff just last year- that’s a huge chunk of any workforce. Krome who are in the midst of getting Blade Kitten out the door have had a rough trot as of late with many projects being lost to other developers late last year.
