Aussie Animal Crossing on Wii incompatible with Aussie Wild World
In what seems to be a huge mistake or oversight on behalf either Nintendo Europe or Australia, it seems that if you bought an Aussie copy of Animal Crossing: Lets Go to the City and you have an Aussie version of Animal Crossing: Wild World, if you want to import your character, youre flat out of luck. It seems getting Wild World for Xmas 2005 has come back to bite us on the bum, as Nintendo has in fact given us the US version of Wild World. And guess what Lets Go to the City doesnt speak American.
See screenshots below to see what happens when you try and import your characters. So not only is this an issue but if you own an American version of the game you wont be importing to your Aussie copy and vice-versa.

As the below video shows the evidence, the “Australian” copy of Animal Crossing Wild World is in fact, the American version- ESRB rating and all. Now while this hasn’t been a problem for 2 years, it is now.
Now the question remains, will the European version of Wild World have any problems when the game is released over there? We’ve passed this news story onto Nintendo Australia and are awaiting comment or a possible fix.
Update 1: Nintendo Australia have acknowledged the problem with transferring data between Animal Crossing: Lets go to the City and Animal Crossing: Wild World. Nintendo Australia are currently investigating this problem, and apologise for any inconvenience. They have stated that This issue only affects Australian customers, so no need to fret over the Europeans.
