Atlus confirms a new Etrian Odyssey, the last with ‘bottom screen’ support

Atlus have been terrific supporters of the Nintendo 3DS with more than a handful of Etrian Odyssey games on the system. Now they have just announced that there is still one more on the way but the sad news is that this will be the last one.

Series director Shigeo Komori has said in a new interview that this will be the “last game in the series that will have a map to be drawn on the bottom screen on the Nintendo 3DS.”

He also said that the game “would like to deliver a “festival”-like game that can be said to be another culmination [of the series]”.

So while not saying it outright, this likely means this is the last Etrian game for the Nintendo 3DS. Unless you know of another system with a ‘bottom screen’.

Yesss! Etrian Wii U confirmed… er, right??

    *crickets*

I thought this would be EO Untold 3, but I’m not sure after reading the comments. I still have to go back and finish the original EO3, I lost a bit of interest halfway through. It doesn’t seem to flow quite as well as the others.

Awesome news for the 3DS though, what a fantastic system.
