Developers confirm the breakout hit is coming to the 3DS.

Perhaps the greatest success on the Apple App Store is now on its way to the Nintendo 3DS. The developer has posted on Twitter that Angry Birds will be heading to the 3D console, as well as the Wii in the near future. The WiiWare version was already revealed a while back as was a DSiWare version.

With the release of the 3DS so close now, it makes sense to switch it up to the new platform. That is of course unless its coming to retail, but we dont think people will buy Angry Birds at full price when its cheaper on every other platform its already on.

Nintendo has still not disclosed its plans for “3DSWare”, if thats even the name they will give it. The Nintendo 3DS eShop wont be available at launch, but we think whenever it does launch, Angry Birds will be there.
