In one of the worst kept secrets in quite some time, Activision has announced that they have teamed up with Rock Band Aerosmith for a special edition of Guitar Hero, aptly named Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. The first Guitar Hero game to focus on one band (no really) is due to hit in June. “”Having a game built around Aerosmith has been a huge honour and really a great experience for us””, says Joe Perry. More inside “”We’ve put a lot of ideas into the game so that fans can have fun interacting with our music, getting inside our body of work and learning about the band’s history.”” The game will not just feature Aerosmith music (Thank God), but songs from artists that the band has either performed with or has been inspired by in some way. Venues from historical moments during the band’s illustrious career will be also on offer, not being recycled arenas like Rocks the 80’s. Don’t worry folks, this is not Guitar Hero IV, it is only a special edition like the previously mentioned “”Rocks the 80’s”” Edition on the PS2.

The Wii version is again in development by Vicarious Visions with the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions being developed by Neversoft. A PS2 version is also on the way.
