This 8-bit ARMS remix is awesome

Most excellent.

Among the many people joining in for last weekend’s ARMS Testpunch was one person who thought there was one thing missing – 8-bit music.

The main theme for ARMS is infectiously catchy, sounding like an epic sporting call-to-arms (no pun intended). Hearing the vocals replaced by midi files is a completely different sensation. The remixed tune by YouTube user Loeder sounds like it could have come straight from a classic NES title. Have a listen below and let it earworm its way into your head.

Loeder has created a fantastic take on the ARMS theme, and it shows just how good Nintendo are at making simple, yet effective, melodies regardless of the genre or instruments used.

For comparison, here’s the original music uploaded by Dystifyzer:

Both are fantastic renditions – I love how the official theme sounds like something from the brilliant Persona 5 soundtrack, especially at the 1:08 mark.

What do you think of the ARMS music so far, official and remixed?
